Privacy policy.
This policy describes how GoneNext handles information today. It is written to match what the site actually does, not what it might do later.
Privacy details
No accounts
GoneNext has no user accounts, no registration and no login. You can browse every departure page, title page and search result without providing any personal information.
Email alerts are optional
GoneNext offers two optional email alerts. An address must be entered into the relevant form, and the alert must be confirmed through the email sent to that address:
- Weekly digest — a weekly email listing titles leaving US streaming services soon, from the box on the homepage.
- Title reminder — a one-time email sent about three days before a specific title’s last day to watch on a specific service, from that title’s page.
GoneNext stores an address to manage and send the requested alert. It is not published, sold, added to an unrelated mailing list, or used for advertising. The site’s hosting and email infrastructure process the address to deliver the confirmation and alert emails.
Confirmation is required
Submitting a form does not subscribe you. GoneNext sends a confirmation email first, and the alert only becomes active once you open the link in that email. If you never confirm, no alert is sent and the unconfirmed request is deleted automatically after about a week.
The form’s response is the same whether or not an address was already subscribed, so the site cannot be used to check whether someone else is signed up.
How long an alert is kept
- Weekly digest stays active until you unsubscribe, or until you ask to be removed.
- Title reminder is one-time. It is sent once, roughly three days before the last day to watch, and is not reused afterwards. It is not automatically transferred to a different departure date — if a title’s date changes, that is a new alert.
- Unconfirmed requests are deleted about a week after they are made.
Unsubscribing
Every alert email GoneNext sends contains an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Opening it turns off that alert immediately, with no login and no need to contact anyone. No account is needed to unsubscribe, because no account exists.
You can also ask to be removed using the contact form.
Stored alert data
For each alert, GoneNext stores the email address, a protected lookup value derived from it, the alert type and scope, its status, protected confirmation or unsubscribe credentials, and timestamps such as when it was created, confirmed, or last sent. A title reminder also stores the related title and departure-event identifiers.
The alert table does not store raw IP addresses or copies of sent email bodies. WordPress and the site’s hosting or email infrastructure may still process delivery records or standard server logs. Alert addresses are not passed to an advertising or marketing platform by GoneNext.
The contact form
The contact form is separate from the email alerts. If you use it, GoneNext receives the details you enter:
- the name you provide
- your email address, so a reply is possible
- the reason you selected
- your message
These details are used only to respond to your request and to act on corrections or feedback. They are not published, not added to any mailing list, and not used for anything else.
How contact messages are delivered
The form sends your message as an email. It does not create a record in the site’s own database: GoneNext does not intentionally save contact submissions as permanent records in the tables that store its streaming data.
Like any email, delivery is handled by the site’s hosting and email infrastructure, and a copy of the message will exist in the mailbox it is delivered to. That mailbox is how the message is read and answered.
Anti-abuse information
To limit automated spam, the contact and alert forms apply submission limits. The application stores a temporary, one-way protected value derived from the connection address. The raw address is not stored in that rate-limit record, and the record expires automatically.
This rate-limit information is not used by GoneNext to track browsing. Separate hosting or server logs may still contain connection information, as described below.
Advertising and tracking cookies
The current GoneNext code does not run advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. It does not build an advertising profile from your browsing.
Google Analytics
GoneNext may use Google Analytics on its production site to understand how visitors use the site. Depending on its configuration and any applicable consent, this can include page and site interactions, browser or device information, approximate geographic information, and cookies or similar identifiers. Google processes this information in providing the Analytics service. This local development site does not run Google Analytics.
Advertising
GoneNext may display advertising in the future, including advertising supplied by Google AdSense or other advertising partners. If advertising is enabled, advertising providers may use technologies such as cookies, IP addresses, web beacons, or similar identifiers to serve, measure, secure and, where permitted, personalize advertising. Third-party advertising providers operate under their own privacy policies and applicable consent requirements.
No marketing beyond the alerts you ask for
The alert emails contain what they describe: titles leaving soon or a reminder about one title. The current alert system does not send unrelated promotions or third-party offers, and it does not use alert addresses for advertising.
Search terms
When you search for a title, your search term is part of the page address. It is used to look up matching titles in GoneNext’s own catalog and to show you the results. Search results pages are not indexed by search engines.
Server logs
The web server or hosting provider may record standard technical information for requests, such as the requested page, date and time, browser details, and connection address. The repository does not establish the host’s exact log retention period or access practices, so this policy does not promise a fixed retention period for those logs.
Third-party media
Some title posters and streaming-service logos are loaded from Movie of the Night domains. When your browser requests those files, the media host may receive standard request information such as your connection address, browser details, and the requested file. GoneNext does not use those requests for advertising or cross-site tracking.
External links
GoneNext links out to streaming services and other third-party sites so you can go and watch a title. Those sites are not operated by GoneNext and have their own privacy policies. Once you follow a link away from GoneNext, this policy no longer applies.
If this changes
If the site later adds features such as accounts, or changes its analytics or advertising practices, this policy will need to be updated to describe the resulting data practices.
This policy was last reviewed against the site as it exists today.
